We would like to announce the debut of Rights and Security, a monthly Prism Live TV program. Beginning Saturday June 12 at 10:00am EST, Rights and Security will focus on important National Security cases and issues by interviewing key players in National Security and Human Rights live on the Internet in streaming video.
In our first broadcast, former CBC producer Kelly Crichton will host a discussion about the ongoing issues and events of the Omar Khadr case. Our guests will be Alex Neve and Dennis Edney.
Alex Neve is the Secretary General of Amnesty International Canada, and will be appearing as our in-studio guest. Alex has recently returned from Guantanamo Bay and will share his first-hand experiences and impressions about Omar’s trial.
Dennis Edney is Omar’s Edmonton-based human rights lawyer, and will join us via video conferencing from Edmonton. Like Alex Neve, Dennis Edney has been to Guantanamo Bay, on multiple occasions, and will bring his perspectives on the US case against his client.
Rights and Security can be viewed at either of the following web addresses:
http://www.prism-magazine.com/prism-tv/
or
http://www.livestream.com/prismmagazine
The second address is preferable if video quality is poor due to network congestion.
Please join us for our debut program. Viewers will have the chance to ask questions through a chat box located on the Prism TV web page.

Thank you for producing the interview with Alex Neve and Dennis Edney. It was truly informative and a thorough analysis of the current situation. I would like to watch it again, and send it along to friends, but am having difficulty getting it to start at the beginning. Is there any way of controlling where you begin?

Hello,
Is this broadcast available online after it's over (or if it isn't, will it be at some point)?
Thanks for focusing on such an important issue!

Thank you for doing this. It's a long process to re-educate people after the massive militarization and "securitization" of our national gestalt that has taken place, but you are doing important work toward that. Video is key, and internet is key — most people don't get their news from TV anymore. You are doing exactly what needs doing. Please, please, keep it up. Our democracy depends on efforts like this.
