In his newly published book Courage and Consequences, Karl Rove, Bush’s top political strategist, defends the use of Waterboarding after dismissing that it constitutes torture. In a BBC interview he even goes further: “I am proud that we kept the world safer than it was, by the use of these techniques. They’re appropriate, they’re in conformity with our international requirements and with US law“.
This is how low previous administration officials have become. They do not even feel any shame. But how exactly does the current administration justify allowing what appears to be full sanctioning of torture, without investigation or prosecution?
One can ask the legitimate question whether people like Rove are making the world safer or a more dangerous place to live in.

Obama should have prosecuted those guilty of torture. Instead he's left them free to promote their hideous ideas.
I don't want anybody torturing people to supposedly keep me safe. These people are monsters.
